ESF - Employment Report 2008"Employment in Europe" is the main tool of the Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities DG for the analysis of employment performance and labour market developments in the European Union, the Acceding and the Candidate Countries.

It provides the basic analytical and statistical background to underpin the Joint Employment Report as well as other instruments key to the European Employment Strategy.

Seminars

A larger "dissemination conference" is organised in Brussels (normally in November) by the services of the EUropean Commission as soon as the hardcopy version of the report is available. The aim of this conference is to present and discuss the key findings of the report. Read more about the conference under "Events" which include the conference programme as well as discussants' interventions and presentations.

In the framework of the "Employment in Europe" report, Occasional Seminars are organised on a regular basis. The aim of these seminars is to disseminate ongoing research and to discuss its policy implications with Commission staff, but they are also open to the public upon registration (universities, think-tanks, policy makers, etc.). Speakers are invited to present in a non-technical way the main findings of their work and the participants are invited to actively participate in the debate following the presentation. Seminar language is English.

Information on upcoming/past seminars can be found at the Occasional Seminars web site on Europa.
